Scholar Expectations

All scholars at John Early are expected to maintain a high standard in their attendance, academics, and behavior. Families are expected to stay informed through communication with the teacher and through the parent portal.

Attendance
Scholarly attendance is expected to be 95% or higher throughout the school year. All absences should be excused by providing a note to the attendance clerk in the office. It the scholar's responsibility to get their makeup work from the teacher and submit it in a timely fashion. Partial and half-day absences accrue. Excessive absences or tardies result in a loss of instruction and will be submitted to the truancy court.

Academics
Scholars are expected to maintain a C average in reading, math, science, and social studies. Scholars who do not maintain this average will receive additional supports. The school will provide these supports in collaboration with the family's input.

Behavior
Scholars are expected to respect and follow the school's rules. Profane language and refusal directed toward or in response to staff will not be tolerated. Fighting and other extreme behaviors will result in suspension and possible removal from school.
